Article 1:
The story behind SEA DRAGON (and how paint learns to dance)
Dear Art lover,
Welcome to the very first edition of the Collector’s Circle. As I launch this space this August, my intention is simple: to pull back the curtain and share the heartbeat, the stories, and the quiet moments of alchemy that happen inside my studio here in Hong Kong.
Art is never just a static object on a wall; it’s a frequency, a shift in the room, and a anchor for presence. Today, I want to share the story of one of my favorite recent pieces...
Sea Dragon, Fluid Art on round canvas ( 30cm)
Have you ever wondered what happens when paint is allowed to dance on its own?
Creating a piece like Sea Dragon is a process that feels far more like alchemy than traditional painting. It begins much like cooking—carefully curating my palette and mixing each color with a pouring medium until the consistency is perfectly creamy and ready to move.
The magic truly begins at the pour. I use a special activator in the white paint, then use my breath—in a very specific technique—to guide the pigment across the canvas. I don't use a brush; instead, I let the colors co-create. I invite the paint to dance, and then I step back.
Once poured, the painting enters a quiet phase. It must dry perfectly flat and undisturbed for several days, safe from dust and debris, as the colors settle into their final forms. It was during this drying process that the image emerged: a dragon, vivid and blue, appearing in the heart of the fluid swirls.
Thus, Sea Dragon was born.
To finish, I add delicate gold foil lines, which act as a thread of light running through the composition, before sealing everything with a gloss varnish for lasting protection.

Sea Dragon was created with a clear intention: to bring flow, energy, and a sense of protection to its space. I am so honored that it has now found its forever home.
Here is a behind the scene video of a fluid art pouring using the same process for the making of Sea Dragon canvas.
